'Bird Identification' is a website for anyone who wants to learn more about birds and wants to gain formal evidence of their developing skills. Here you can choose to take a formal test on the birds in your own country or for the whole Western Palearctic, and receive a valid certificate at higher education level. You can also choose to join our field study trips in the Western Palearctic or study the birds yourself by using our training quiz.
This is an application to query birding locations in four Mediterranean countries: Cyprus, Spain, Greece and Portugal.
Objectives
The main information detailing is based on the Important Bird Areas and Biodiversity Areas (IBA) for each country. For most of the IBA, you see its location on Google maps and you can find useful information about the site and key species of birds. Moreover the user can add their own data points of interest to the IBA, which can be shared between users of the application. While the site data are housed in the heart of the application, there are also sheets of all key species found in these Mediterranean countries.
